Have you tried our new table extractors?
Since launch, PDFTables.com had a single core algorithm for extracting tables from PDFs.
More recently, you may have noticed we've added another two more improved converters that use artificial intelligence models to extract tables.
We have two extractors: "Intelligent #1" and "Intelligent #2" which offer a number of benefits over the original extractor:
- handling of scanned PDFs directly for PDFs that contain images and no text
- the option to extract tables separately from paragraph text
- improved extraction accuracy in some cases
The original standard extractor is still available
We realise some customers are currently working with the output from the original extractor.
We're happy to confirm that there are no changes to the availability of the original standard extractor.
We encourage you to try out the other converters nonetheless, as you may find extraction accuracy improves.
How to select a different converter
It's easy to try out and switch between the different converters.
- For our web upload tool, you will see the option of which extractor to use.
- For our API, details are on our API page.
How pricing is managed
Finally, you may also have noticed that your "pages left" count has been converted directly to a credit balance.
If you had 500 pages previously, then you will have received 500 credits.
This allows us to implement individual pricing per converter to reflect implementation costs.
Again, there is no change to the standard converter. It is currently charged just as it was before: one credit gives you one page conversion.
Any feedback?
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or feedback about our newer converters!
