Privacy & Security

Overview

This policy was last updated on May 24, 2018.

We understand that privacy is important to our online visitors and users. We respect your privacy and will take all reasonable steps to safeguard and protect your information as if it was our own.

This policy will help you understand what personal data PDFTables.com collects; how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information; and the purposes of collection and disclosure.

On-Premises

Your On-Premises installation benefits from the strict privacy and security environment we provide. See On-Premises for details.

Personal Data

Free Trial User Data: If you have not created an account at PDFTables, you are an anonymous user. Any PDF you upload during the free trial is deleted within 72 hours. We use your IP address to calculate the number of pages remaining in your free trial.

PDF Data: By clicking the Convert a PDF button, a user has given their consent for us to process PDF data. A user who intends to convert a PDF containing personal data must have permission to do so from the data owner.

Login Data: We collect your email address and name in order to send you transactional emails for activation, invoicing, password reset and so on. If you have consented, we will send you marketing emails. When contacting us via hello@pdftables.com, your email address is stored in Gmail. All users with access to this email account use two-factor authentication. If you would like your email address removed from Gmail, please contact us.

Payment Data: When purchasing our service, data required to carry out the transaction will be shared with necessary regulated third parties (Xero, Stripe). Your data will not be shared with any third party which is not named in our terms.

If you have entered any of your data incorrectly when creating an account, or if you would like us to delete your account and remove your data from our website, please contact us.

Data Privacy

In our web service we only use your data in order to provide and improve the service we give to you. See our Terms & Conditions for details.

The service is securely hosted on Amazon Web Services, in its own Virtual Private Cloud.

All transactions are end-to-end encrypted between your browser and the server processing the data with HTTPS, which is the same technology you use to communicate with your bank. Transactions within our data center are also encrypted with the same means.

Data Retention

We will delete all data that you have uploaded and not retain any of it after 72 hours.

Subject Access Request

If you would like to make a Subject Access Request (SAR), please submit a contact form with the topic set to 'Subject Access Request'. We will fulfill this request with 1 month unless we believe the request to be manifestly unfounded or excessive. If this is the case, we will tell you within 1 month. You have the right to complain to the supervisory authority and to a judicial remedy.

Advertising and Marketing

We do not disclose your data to advertisers under any circumstances.

We assume you have opted out of marketing. You can opt-in here

Payments

Our servers never handle credit card information.

We use Stripe, a regulated payment provider which handles billions of dollars each year.

You can choose the “remember me” option during checkout, and Stripe will remember your credit card details. This is useful if you want to buy multiple packs of pages.

If you want to delete your payment credentials, stop storing information using Stripe checkout, or change your settings, you can send an email to support@stripe.com.
